Student loans can bridge the gap between the Cost of Attendance and grants and scholarship offered at Otis College of Art and Design.

We have prepared this site to help answer a few questions.  Click on the loan name to find out more about the loan.  Reading over the promissory note will give you the best information regarding your student loan.

 Are you an Undergraduate Student?

 

Federal Stafford Loans

Step 1:  Accept your loans on your award letter

Step 2:  Complete your Stafford Entrance Counseling

Step 3:  Select a lender from the Lender List

Step 4:  E-sign your Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note

(The site is only available from 3am to 8pm PST.  Please call: 1-800-999-9080 for questions about e-signatures.)

Annual renewal of Stafford Loan only requires that you accept the loan on Self Service

Private loans

Step 1:  Compare benefits on our Lender List.  Find current rates of prime and libor.

Step 2:  Get pre-approved from one of the Lenders:

Key Bank

Chase

Education Finance Partners

Step 3:  Complete your Application sent by lender

Step 4:  After school starts, confirm on Self Service that your funds was received

Annual renewal of Private Loan need to occur with the lender through their approval process.  Select the same lender or a new lender and go through the preapproval process.

 
 Are you a Parent?

 

PLUS Loans for Parents of Undergraduate Students

Step 1:  Accept PLUS loans on the award letter

Step 2:  Pick a lender from the Lender List

Step 3:  Complete your pre-approval. Parents should sign on under their own user account. 

Please call: 1-800-999-9080 for questions regarding pre-approval.

Step 4:  E-sign your PLUS Loan Master Promissory Noteif you have not done so during the pre-approval process.

NEW>  Parents requesting for a postponement of payment will need to complete the application and return it to the lender.  This application must be renewed every year.

CONTINUING STUDENTS PARENTS:

Annual renewal of Parent PLUS Loan requires another approval through the American Student Assistance website.  The parent logs in and click on "apply for a PLUS Loan" once you have entered the site (towards to top of the page). 

 
 Are you a Graduate Student?

Step 1:  Accept your award and make sure you have completed the

Stafford & Graduate PLUS Entrance Counseling above.  You only have to do this once to fulfill the requirement for both.

Step 2:  Pick a lender from the Lender List

Step 3:  Complete your pre-approval. (Please call: 1-800-999-9080 for questions)

Step 4:  E-sign your PLUS Loan Master Promissory Note if you have not done so during the pre-approval process.
