Grad from the Advertising Program’s First Class Checks In

Laurie Nickerson (’06 Communication Arts)

Hello!

I wanted to touch base with the OTIS crew. Well that, and toot my own horn a bit. This past weekend I got my first gold Addy award. It was only the local competition, but I was still stoked. From here it will go on to regionals and then hopefully nationals. It was for a logo design I did for my company. We are starting a subdivision of the company, Black Marker, which will go after "edgier" clients than the normal corporate. I attached a copy of the logo.

I realize that this reflects on the school as well and proves how cool the advertising program is. I gotta tell you, I have so many things in my back pocket that I can pull from based on my education at Otis. Can I write copy? SURE! Can I do anything in After Effects? SURE! What about Flash? Well... I can sure try to remember all that. haha. I hope that the program remains a staple of the comm arts department and grows even more. It really was fantastic thanks to you all.

Please feel free to forward this to anyone whose email is not on the list. I was digging around my email addresses and I realize I don't have everyone's. So thanks you all!!

Hope everyone is doing well.
Laurie Nickerson
