The National Association of Schools of Arts and Design (NASAD), founded in 1944, is an organization that establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials in the visual arts and design. It has approximately 248 accredited institutional members.  Institutional membership is gained only through the peer review process of accreditation.
